Product Review: Haus of Gloi Part 2

I wrote about this brand before and was pleasantly surprised by the products. Not only were they extremely affordable (mine were gifted to me by my sister but they really are affordable) but they smelled amazing!

Since I loved my experience with them so much I decided to purchase more products from them when they debuted their new fall collection. Even though I wanted to purchase more, I restrained myself and purchased just a few items. Of course I had to share on here what I purchased and what I thought about it as well. One more thing – their shipping time was excellent. It was shipped within a few days.

Haus of Gloi products

I purchased the Red Roan Perfume Oil and Bubbling Scrub: From their website Red Roan is described as “Fresh strawberry flecked porridge with maple syrup and adulterated with a splash of white cognac.”

I absolutely love this scent. It smells exactly how it sounds – like strawberry oatmeal! It has a hint of what smells to me like a strawberry malt as well.

Honey Love Perfume Oil: This scent was actually not part of their fall collection. It was something I randomly found on the website while I was browsing and sounded like something I would like.

According to their website Honey Love is described as”Golden honey, sweet cream, pink carnation, and vanilla musk.”

I don’t normally like musky scents but since it said vanilla musk I thought I would probably enjoy it – and I do.

The honey love perfume oil has a creamy honey and floral scent. The floral and musk are not as prevalent as I was expecting though so I am enjoying this yummy scent.

The perfume oils lasted for most of the day and kept their key notes. I was thoroughly surprised as I wasn’t sure how it would hold up on the humid days that I wore them.

I will definitely be purchasing more perfume oils and bubbling scrubs from Haus of Gloi in the future. For the mean time, my sister is more than happy to let me try some of the scents that she purchased from their website recently. Lots of candy corn and pumpkin scents to fulfill our Fall/Autumn senses.

Upon checking their social media I found out that they came out with more new scents to choose from – nothing that caught my eye but just an FYI.

Flashback Friday’s

Hey there! Thank you for stopping in. I hope that this new month finds you well. Through all the craziness that 2020 has brought upon us please find some time to take care of you. Here are some things you can do from home to take care of you during this time. I also wrote about some things to do when you’re bored at home.

Anywho, welcome to Flashback Friday for this week – these posts are where I write about what has been going on with me during the week. I am hoping to do this series a little more often since I enjoy doing it so much. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I’m writing a book: I started writing a book many years ago and am still working on it but I’m currently working on a new book and I feel like this one should be complete before the other one. I am starting with an outline and adding to it. My goal is to write a little something at least a few times a week so that things get moving for me. I’ll be sure to update y’all as I go along. I may even drop a sneak peek eventually.

I’ve been writing blog posts: I have been inspired and motivated more lately and this equates to me coming up with more blog post ideas. I have been enjoying writing new posts and I am hoping that my readers enjoy coming back to read them. My plan is to at least publish 1 post a week at the very minimum – preferably on Sundays. So if I stick with Flashback Fridays I will also be posting an additional post on Fridays. Wish me luck!

I’ve been purging and organizing: Lately I have been on a purging kick. I have been not only cleaning my physical space but also my digital. From organizing my room to deleting old photos and documents I am enjoying the feeling of letting things go that no longer serve me.

I’ve been working on my health and well-being: Though I’ve been working on this off and on, I have recently been more diligent in doing so. I have been attempting to watch my carb intake as well as go on walks and/or do yoga most days of the week.

Also, sleep health has been important so I have decided to go to sleep at an earlier time than usual. No late nights thinking and/or on social media – so far this has been a struggle but I’m doing better most nights. I have been feeling so much better and lost a couple pounds along the way.

I have been also working on my mental health along the way. From practicing my daily affirmations to working closely with my therapist (and doing the homework they assign me) so that I can live a healthier lifestyle.

I’ve been reading more often: From online articles and short emails (with useful information) to physical and digital books, I have made the decision to read as often as I can. My goal is to read at least a little something daily and I have been doing fairly well. I have been debating recently on starting my Audible subscription back up so that I can “read” digital books without purchasing the hard copies and adding it to my huge book collection.

Let us know what you have been up to in the comments.

Reading, Watching, Listening

Hey ya’ll. Time to share with you what I have been reading, watching and listening to.

Reading: I recently started reading The Art of War by Sun Tzu. This isn’t something I would normally read, however, I always hear such great things about it that I thought, why not read it.

There are also some other books that I am reading and will share in future posts.

Watching: Since I’ve watched nearly every episode of my favorite shows I decided to start watching a new show. We chose to start Schitt’s Creek and it has been a laugh fest ever since. Schitt’s Creek is about a wealthy family that loses it all and ends up in a beat up town that the father figure purchased as a joke for his son.

It stars Chris Elliot as the creepy mayor that lends to a lot of cringe-worthy moments. The parentals are played by Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara and I think they make a great on screen couple.

Listening: Aside from listening to old school R&B I have also been listening to newer music as well. Though I’m not up-to-date on every new artist I have been enjoying ones that I have discovered along the way.

New music is always great – especially when I discover a new artist that makes a great project, however, when an artist that I used to listen to comes out with a new project I can’t help but take a listen. When I found out that Brandy had a new album out I couldn’t help but dive right in. Her new album is called B7 and it does not disappoint.

If you’re on Insta you may have watched the recent Verzuz with her and Monica – that really took me back to when I was a teenager thinking I knew what love was all about. I sat there reminiscing.

Her beautifully raspy voice and harmonies took me back to all her other projects. She had me swaying back and forth as well as bopping to the groove. I still can’t believe this is her seventh album. I missed going through all of her more recent projects and only listened to a few songs here and there but I chose to listen to this album in its entirety – and I am so glad I did. This album seems a but more personal for her and like that she is being vulnerable. My favorites are Say Something, Rather Be and Borderline.
