10 Holiday Blog Post Ideas

What you’re thankful for

This should be fairly easy as it can include the smallest of things that you are thankful for. The holiday season is the perfect time to reflect on what you are thankful for.

Travel Guides and Tips

Many people travel during the holidays. Road trip, airline travel, packing tips. Write about your city and what to do there

Favorite traditions or memories

What are your favorite family traditions or memories about the holiday? Share them with your readers so they can not only get to know more about you but also be inspired to perhaps start their own traditions and create memories with their family.

Favorite holiday movies and music

The fun thing about this is that some people may have never heard of a movie or song/artist that you share. You can introduce your readers to something new!

Favorite holiday recipes

This topic you can make into a series and split it up into different dishes so that you have more than one post to share with your readers.

Roundup of favorite memories of the year

Every year I try to make a year end post with updates of things I did every month throughout the year. You can also do a roundup of your favorite memories – it doesn’t have to be listed by month but this can also be split up into different categories and more than one post.

Holiday Gift Guides

You can do this by person, gender, price point and more – also split this up into different posts if you have enough ideas.

Your Wishlist

It is always fun to share what is on your wishlist with others.  Pick maybe 5 things and write about why theses items are your must haves.

What you plan to do for the new year

Call it goals. Call it resolutions. Call it whatever you please but share this with your readers so they can not only learn about you but perhaps get inspired to create a list themselves.

12 things you learned the last 12 months

This is another post that will help your readers learn a bit more about you. You can get as personal as you feel comfortable sharing.

Flashback Friday’s: Where Did This Week Go?

As some of you know I recently quit my job. I am used to working, being busy. So what does one do when they no longer have a routine? They make a new one.

For me I have been working on my mental health and well being. That means taking care of myself, reading up on mental health and self care routines so that I can incorporate them into my life. I have been spending more time with family and getting a lot of love and support from them.

This week was my birthday and I couldn’t think of anything I really wanted to do. I mainly wanted to spend time with family so I decided we should go to Chuck E. Cheese. That way I could have their yummy pizza and the kids could have fun instead of being bored. It was a blast! I played games, got sung Happy Birthday Chucky style and just overall enjoyed myself. I can’t believe I am 39. Last year of my 30’s so I’m going to make it a good one.

During this week I have also been blogging – mainly working on my drafts. I updated and posted two of them and this post is the newest post at this time.

I have also been playing with our dog more often, petting kitty cats, enjoyed some social media here and there and had some nice, rejuvenating naps. This week I was treated to a pedicure and I also got my hair braided. I’m feeling like a whole new woman and going into this next year of my life with open arms to all the good that is available to me.

I’m Back (SORTA)

hello.

flashback fridays hertaintedlips

Where do I even begin? Last year I was starting to pick up on my blogging and attempting to write and publish blog posts more consistently but life happened and all of my great plans and ideas came to a screeching halt.

I was wrapping up my final semesters of school, my Dad passed away and I was forced to get a second part-time job in order to afford living in Hawaii.

Needless to say I think about blogging and writing a lot. More so now than ever. I have so much to write and share but even during the times where I am not overwhelemed with different emotions or exhausted from working 12 hour days, I just can’t seem to put a post together.

I had some time off today and thought I would sit here and just write. Not even think about if any of this makes sense or where to put the sentences or paragraphs. Just write. Write because I love it. Write because it excites me.

Something that inspired me to write/blog again (more?) was somehow being off (between my two jobs) to catch the WriteStuff chat on Twitter – I haven’t been participating in twitter chats much lately or any social media really unless I have time while I lay around and try to get rest or just relax a little bit.

Another thing that inspired me was this Marie Forleo (one of my favorite people) youtube video with Sarah Jones about trusting your intuition and listening to that little voice. I choose to listen to that little voice.

Anywho, forgive the mess. I am back (sorta). Expect more random posts coming to you shortly. Summer time is my favorite time – beaches and bbq’s as well as my birthday coming up (July 10th). Thank you for hanging in there with me. I love you.

Flashback Friday’s: Feeling hot, hot, HOT

It’s Friday again! You know what that means – the weekend! And I especially love Friday’s because I get to work from home. WOO HOO. Yay Friday!

flashback fridays hertaintedlips

Life, Life

IT IS HOT! Now if you go ahead and google the temperature for Hawaii you’re going to be like “what are you talking about Rose? It’s not that bad. Besides, you live in Hawaii – it is supposed to be hot.” WRONG! Now, I will admit, this summer has not been as hot as it was last summer (which was probably the hottest summer I ever remember in Hawaii out of all the summers I have ever lived here.) However, the humidity the past week or so has really done a number on me. I have been warned by the heat to up my water intake by nearly double. It has just been ridiculously hot.

I had a moment last week where I was so thirsty that I had to grab a bottled water in the store and start gulping – I felt like I was about to pass out. I think I am suffering from heat exhaustion because for a couple days in a row I just felt absolutely horrible. I am hoping that this comes to an end very soon because I have been feeling so damn miserable lately. Thank goodness for cool summer nights, fans, ice water and sugar-free slurpees!

In other news, I discovered one morning that one of my credit cards was used to make a fraudulent purchase. It was “only” $1.33 – but the thing about it is – I did not authorize that purchase. I called my credit card company and issued a fraud report. They cancelled my card and will be sending me a new one. I share this to remind all of you to please check your credit card and bank account statements. Figure out a system that works and stick to it.

The gentleman in the fraud department says most times what happens is your card will get charged a couple small amounts so the illegal scoundrels can see if you’re monitoring your account and suddenly *BAM* – they will try to charge a large amount. Let’s just say I was pretty damn heated and a bit annoyed because they couldn’t even trace where the charge came from. I googled the name of the lodge and it is a Yoga Retreat in Scotland. Even though I would love to go to Scotland one day and love myself some Yoga… that certainly wasn’t me.

In more exciting news – I binge-watched Netflix Original Series Stranger Things and I need them to come out with at least 2-6 more seasons… ASAP. Since I was left wanting more Sci-Fi goodies to fill up my time before school starts in a couple weeks I remembered that I didn’t finish watching Sense8. I am on episode 9 which is where it is getting even better but that also means I am almost to the end of that season – what do I do next? Let me know what you have been binge-watching on Netflix so I can check it out.

What I enjoyed reading this week:

  • 12 Reasons Entrepreneurs With Type-A Personalities Are Unstoppable: It seems like I always run into people that consider themselves Type-A’s and I think it is because of my interests, work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. This was a great read.
  • College Note Taking Tips: Check out Abigail’s excellent tips on taking notes. Her notes are so pretty and organized and her tips are just what I needed to get prepared for this upcoming semester.
  • 5 Ways to Add Self-Care to Your Bullet Journal: I have a little confession – I am a journal addict. I am not usually able to fill them up and have probably 20+ of them that are halfway filled. However, bullet journals are super popular right now and I was thinking about trying one or two out – one for blogging and one for self-care/personal goals so this was such a great time to find this post.

Blog Life, Life

I have been working a lot behind-the-scenes when it comes to blogging so expect to see more posts in the upcoming weeks. Last week I was able to post this Naturel Commodity Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid Review and of course a Flashback Friday’s post. I realized that sometimes when I am typing my fingers go so fast that the keyboard gets warm… hot even. It is actually happening right now as I type this out lol.

My goal is to post 3-5 times a week so I am slowly working my way up there. Since school is starting in a few weeks I do have a couple of college posts that are in the works so keep your eyes open for those. I have a couple of product reviews that I am working on as well – wish me luck!

Thank you so much for stopping by and reading – let me know how you got here. Did someone tell you to come check out the blog? Let me know in the comments as I would love to thank them (and you) xo

Flashback Friday’s: Passions and A Quarterlife Crisis

Aloha! Welcome to another Flashback Friday! I hope that you had a wonderful week and that this post finds you in good spirit. If you are new here Flashback Friday’s is my way of wrapping up what I have been up to during the week – from online shenanigans to my regular shmegular life. I really appreciate you for stopping in to read about what I have been up to this week and would love to know what you have been up to as well – so feel free to leave a comment or say hello on Twitter.

Life, Life

Last weekend was extremely productive for me. I worked on my Avon business, cleaned and purged a bunch of items in my home and was able to write and schedule a bunch of blog posts. I feel so extremely proud of everything that I was able to accomplish. I am trying to get as many things done this summer as I possibly can because once school starts back up I know I will have to adjust my schedule significantly to make time for homework, papers, projects and so on. I’m glad that I have had this time to work on things that have been lingering on my to-do list forever.

I have a lot of fun things that I have on my summer to-do list which includes pursuing things that I am passionate about. I won’t go into any details at the moment but I will for sure share it with y’all as I get things done so come back and visit and make sure you subscribe so you know when a new post is published!

As I have mentioned before, life has been pretty hectic and I am slowly feeling all the anger, hurt, frustration and confusion slowly calming down. With that being said, I realize I have been having a sort of quarterlife crisis. I know what I want to do with my life – the main thing seems to be helping people. In what capacity? I think that is wherein the issue lies. I have been doing a lot of praying and meditating on this lately because I feel like I need guidance.

Show me where to go and what to do Universe!!

I am nowhere in the place I would like to be/think I should be at my current age but I am willing to take any extra steps necessary to get there. I think this year (2016 and this new year of my life) is really a time for growth and exploration for me. I am out here testing the waters and really listening to my inner voice. Of course you are all welcome to join me on this journey and if I have any epiphanies I will be sure to share it!

I recently watched Laura from iheartplanners youtube video How to Find Your “Thing” and I really enjoyed it because as a blogger and entrepreneur I am always thinking about what my “thing” is – unfortunately, I tend to always have a bunch of “things” that I want to pursue. I like how she shared how she got to where she was and I hope to get there one day as well.

Watch the video below:

I hope you enjoyed the video as much as I did!

Blog Life

So as I mentioned above, I was able to get a lot of blogging tasks done last weekend. I am really proud of myself and so happy that it didn’t feel like “work” as much as play. Sometimes all the things that come with being a blogger can get you down or feel tedious but I really enjoyed myself and hope that I have many more days, months and years of this type of enjoyment and motivation when it comes to blogging.
