Flashback Friday’s: Episode 12

flashback fridays

This was a busy week for me. It seemed like it really just flew by. I didn’t have the time I would have liked to have for certain things but it is because I wasn’t organized and chose to do other things instead. I had plans for this weekend but I really just need the weekend to recover from the whirlwind that is my life.

The most exciting thing that happened for me was going to see The Avengers: Age of Ultron. I really enjoyed it, however, some of the time I wish there was more action involved. I did like that they went more into some of the characters backgrounds – that was a nice touch. I was a little bummed at the lack of Thor in the movie though. lol

I can’t believe that Mother’s Day is already here. I hope all the Mother’s out there have a beautiful weekend. I send my love and respect to all of you. Being a Mother is one of the toughest jobs in the world. I am not a Mother (yet) but I am up for challenge whenever that day comes for me. I asked my Mom what she wanted to do for Mother’s Day and she said “sleep” – lol – she has been working super hard lately so sleep is what we shall give her. Everyone have a great weekend!

Aloha,
Rose

What are your plans for this weekend?
Did you watch Avengers (or any other movies recently)? If so – how did you like it?

Flashback Friday’s: Episode 10

flashback fridays

Hey there! Thank you for stopping in and reading today. Welcome to another episode of Flashback Friday’s where I share with y’all about what I had going on during my week. I can’t believe I actually made it to Episode 10 without skipping any Fridays. This has probably been the only thing that I have actually been pretty consistent with when it comes to blogging. *WOO HOO* I was hoping that I would have been more successful with NaBloPoMo Posts this month but things do not always go as planned. And that is quite alright. I have been working on some drafts lately so next month there should be more of a variety of posts for y’all to read.

During the weekend my niece slept over so. It is always wonderful to spend time with her – she is growing up so fast. She sang songs from her favorite movies/shows as well as got me to watch over 2 hours of My Little Pony Equestria Girls. I look forward to having kids one day but having a niece and nephew is such a wonderful experience and good practice sometimes too. I love them so much and want to spoil the heck out of them most of the time.

Now that I’m working again I don’t have time to binge watch Netflix on random days of the week, but I have been watching Daredevil and I am really enjoying it. We watch 2 or 3 episodes every couple of days and it just keeps getting better. I like all of the characters even though in general I can’t stand the actress that plays Karen (because she annoyed me so much in True Blood
) lol. Other than that I continue watching and look forward to the fight sequences. I don’t want it to end but once it does a have a gazillion shows on the DVR that need to be watched – I try my best to keep it under 87% but that never lasts very long. I will get to them eventually. Thanks to Google Chromecast we can watch Netflix on our awesome TV instead of a the small laptop screen.

One thing that I have been doing better this time around (when it comes to working) is bringing a home lunch. I used to spend so much of my hard earned money every week on lunches (and sometimes snacks or coffee.) I have been pretty good at remembering to make lunches (and actually remembering to bring them with me.) I do intend on spending a little time looking up some creative lunches on Pinterest so that I am not always eating the same boring thing everyday. Let me know what your favorite home lunches are.

Rowling (she got fired from her job from writing too much) and Hugh Jackman (he got fired from his job for talking too much.) It was a great read and an excellent reminder to just keep going.

Flashback Friday’s: Episode 9

flashback fridays

Is it really Friday again? Where did this week go? I have been feeling really exhausted lately mainly because my sleeping pattern has been really wonky lately. It got to the point where I would fall asleep with my phone in my hand while writing a text message or playing a game of Words With Friends. I am hoping this weekend I won’t have much to do so I can get some much needed rest and relaxation.

This week has been full of training at my new job so that is where most of my focus has been. I know, I know… you miss me being on Twitter 24/7 lol. I am really loving my new job and I have learned so many things in such a short amount of time.

In other news, I did manage to write a post about myself called the ABC’s of me. That was fun to do and I challenge you to do it if it sounds like something fun for you to do as well. Also my other blog grew another year older. It turned 5 years old this past weekend.

Going back to my wacky sleep schedule – there was something exciting that came from it and I think it will benefit me and the people that read my blog. During a tossing and turning fit one morning (at 4am) I happened to FINALLY be awake for the #SITSblogging Twitter chat (held 7am PST on Saturdays) and I stumbled upon some blogging accountability partners! I have always wanted at least 1 and I found 3!! My lucky 3 *wink wink*. We are going to help each other with our blogging goals and I am so excited to have found them. Make sure to check them out at their online homes:

+ Teresa at Embracing the Spectrum

+ Diana at This Imperfect Happiness

+ Anna at Hello, Handbag

So I guess lack of sleep is worth it (sometimes.)

Anywho, I hope y’all have a great weekend. What do you have planned for this weekend?

Flashback Fridays: Episode 8

image

Happy Friday!! Another week bites the dust. I hope it was a wonderful week for y’all and that you had a Happy Easter holiday. I had a wonderful time with family and friends. We had baskets and an egg hunt for the kids which is always exciting. We ate breakfast and lunch together as well as munched on random goodies – cupcakes and hot cross buns – to name a few. It was so nice to get together with everyone and enjoy each other’s company.

Work Life
In other exciting news… I got a job!! I had an interview last weekend and started training this week. I am so excited and thank you to everyone that sent me encouraging messages as I was job hunting. I appreciate it and if you are still looking for something I wish you the best of luck!

Of course when you get a job a bunch of other places contact you with offers and interviews so this week I have been swamped with calls and emails. That makes me feel so wanted and it is a good reminder that patience will eventually pay off. It gave me an extra bit of confidence.

I started training for the job this week and I am enjoying myself so far. It is a lot of information to learn but I am always up for a challenge. It is related to my field of study and I am able to use my computer and customer service skills so I don’t feel as overwhelmed as someone that would have came with no experience at all.

Around the web
+ My friend Trent published his first blog post. It is a reflection on love – from a male point-of-view so something different than you would normally find on the interwebs.
+ If you’re a fashion lover I am sure you would love to know How To Wear Spring Trends – pretty floral’s and bright purses are just the beginning.

Anything exciting happen in your life this week?

Flashback Friday’s: Episode 7

3:AM Kisses by Addison Mooreflashback fridays

Welcome to the first Flashback Friday of April 2015. I cannot believe how quickly March flew by. It was a little bumpy with being sick and other personal reasons but I did have a lot of moments where I felt super motivated and was able to accomplish a lot of things. I look forward to this new month and everything it has to offer.

Personal Life
I have been working a lot on job hunting and it finally paid off – sort of. I was sent an email stating that I was hired by a company, however, they are not currently processing new hires so I may have to wait until mid-April for that opportunity to really come into fruition. Even though I want to start working there yesterday (ha!) I feel more confident now and not as frustrated. My hard work is paying off!!

I was also contacted by a company that liked my resume & background and wanted to know if I was interested in a web design position. Unfortunately, I have not done web designing in a very long time. I create images from time to time, but I haven’t done any designing recently so I had to pass it up. Web design is what got me into blogging in the first place and I plan on taking some courses and using one of my other websites to practice on since that is just a fun project I am working on behind the scenes. Until I am super confident in designing, I won’t be offering that as a service to people that want to hire me.

The weather here has been rainy and humid, however, we have had some nice days as well. On a particularly warmer day I decided it was a nice day to take a walk to the beach. I was going to just go for a little meditation session but I decided to invite my sister so we could just relax and enjoy the weather. We climbed down some bolder’s to get closer to the ocean and just sat for a bit enjoying the salty air. It eventually started to get humid and drizzle so we had to walk back home, but it was nice to just enjoy the day. I cannot wait for the summer – I plan on going to the beach at least a couple times a week.

I have been doing a lot of online projects and this week I thought it would be nice to have a change of scenery. Instead of working in the office or living room I decided to pack up my laptop and head over to the local community college library. It was quiet, air conditioned and being in a different atmosphere just really got me in a different head space. I am going to make it a habit to go there a couple of times a month because I enjoyed it so much.

Around the web
+ I found a website where you can mail your friend (or enemy) an envelope of glitter called Mail A B*tch Glitter. I am thinking about sending a couple of envelopes out this summer to some unsuspecting girl friends.
+ One of my goals this years is to read more. I read a lot of online articles but I have bit of an obsession with books. I enjoyed the system that they presented in this article about How to Read More and am going to attempt to put it into practice.
+ Speaking of reading, I found out about a free book [Romantic Comedy, Kindle Edition] 3:AM Kisses by Addison Moore. I will do a book review after I read it and I am not sure how long it will be available for free. If you don’t have a Kindle did you know that you can download a free Kindle app for your tablet, smartphone or computer. I forgot that I had some books already loaded on mine so I downloaded the app to my laptop and now I can read them whenever I please.

How was your week? What was your favorite part? What do you have planned for the weekend?
