How to Get Ready for a Dick Appointment

Hello. Sooo… you came here because you either thought this was going to be a funny post or a serious one. Or perhaps you really want to know how to get ready for a dick appointment. Well ladies (and fellas) – here you go. This is my take on how to get ready for a dick appointment.

Hair

You want your hair to be cute, however, remember that it may end up a mess after you roll around in bed so keep that in mind when you style it. Slick it back, bring an extra rubber band and brush in case you need it later. You pretty little naughty gal.

Nails/Toenails

Make sure your nails are nicely filed as well as your toenails. You don’t want to hurt your partner with rough edges and talons – unless he is into that. Go for a glow in the dark mani or some other pretty color – he probably won’t be staring at your nails, however, just in case.

Hygiene

GIRL – Wash your entire body. Wash every curve, crevice, hole and so on. Top to bottom! Don’t miss any spots. Use a pretty scent if that is your thing – but WASH YOUR A$$ (and your vagina too)!

Shave or wax under your arms, your legs and your lady bits. If you don’t shave or wax your lady bits you can always give it a nice trim if you feel the need to do so. Make it look fabulous and edible.

Lotion and/or powder your body with your favorite scent but don’t overdo it – you don’t wanna smell like a cheap hussy for your appointment.

Brush your teef and bring a mouth wash or mints along just in case you need to freshen up later. GARGLE UP GIRL.

Makeup

Use sweat/water proof makeup if you can so that it can stay on when you’re getting wild in bed. Use a good setting spray so you can remain cute as long as possible. Or – just don’t wear any makeup at all. A pretty lip may turn him on if you know he is into lipstick or lip gloss on you.

Attire

You can pretty much wear anything depending on how long you have known this person. However, for best results dress slutty. Kidding – dress in some sexy and comfy attire that is easy to toss on the side once he is ready for business. Trying to take off a million zippers and buttons is so not sexy ladies – unless he is into a long unveiling.

What to Bring

Full set of extra clothes (you can keep that in your car). Condoms. Lube – if you think you may need that. Mouth wash – in case you know what happens (GARGLE, GARGLE). Some enthusiasm and a great personality (HA!) A brush and rubber band may also come in handy before your walk of shame.

I hope this helps you a bit on your quest on how to get ready for a dick appointment.

Flashback Fridays: Watching, Reading and Listening

Happy Friday everyone! I hope that your week was wonderful and that this weekend is fantastic. I had a good week and look forward to a fairly lazy weekend. I thought this Friday I would share a couple of things I have been up to lately in hopes that you may find something to enjoy as well. So here goes it!

Watching

Claws: I have been binge-watching Claws on TNT (via Hulu) and I don’t know what took me so long to watch this show. I guess I thought it was going to be a ghetto and tacky typical show depicting Black Women as you know what’s. But I have actually enjoyed watching it. I am still on season 1, however, I am enjoying the drama and cliff hangers at the end of each episode. The cast is wonderful other than a few oddly casted members, however, I have been enjoying the storyline.

Bonding: So… Netflix… This show is EVERYTHING. If you want to explore the world of domme’s but it not be too serious with some laughs in there you should check this out.

Reading

Most of my “reading” has actually been through my Amazon Audible subscription, however, my most recent read has been Big Magic. I have been reading this book off and on but I am determined to finish it. I may take a Sunday and just sit with some tea or coffee and devour it from front to back.

Another book I recently started reading is Man Fast. So far I am enjoying it. I have been having a difficult time focusing when I read lately so it has been taking me a bit longer than usual to really dig deep into it.

What reminded me to write this post is that I was going through my emails and ran into an email that caught my eye. So aside from offline reading I went ahead and clicked the link and read this post online: Tim Ferris’ 5-Bullet Friday

Listening

Book: As I mentioned above, Audible has been what I have been listening to lately. I am currently listening to an Audible Original called You Do You: Proud to be Fabulous. Perfect listen for Pride Month. It is stand up style and I am over here bursting at my seams with laughter. Check it out!

Music: “Shotgun” by Future. Since of course every person ever has been talking about it on Twitter. I can see why people are saying he sort of sampled Ciara’s Promise. Not sure if this was on purpose or not. Either way, I like the song. The beat is dope and could do well with other lyrics as well. He isn’t my favorite artist, however, I could see this added to my Summer playlist. I’m already bouncing to it and singing along shotgun, shotgun.

If you want a little NY flow with some Southern twist listen to “Fried Rice” by Bas feat JID. This song literally is fried rice. If you could mix up some good music and eat it. A bit overproduced, however, the beat again… yummy like fried rice. I love me a dope beat with a nice flow.

What have you been watching, reading and listening to this week?

Wellness Wednesdays: Mental Health Matters

TRIGGER WARNING: Mental health disorders, depression, anxiety, panic attacks

I recently went through (and am still going through) a rough time with my mental health. I have had anxiety mixed with panic attack that lead to me going to the E.R. I have had depression that I had to fight and force myself to do every day things – getting out of bed was a major struggle. Going to work. Washing clothes. Being social. Everything became a huge task that I did not want to or know how to do anymore.

Though I feel significantly better than I did a few months ago with therapy and medication, I still have times where I feel extremely anxious or depressed. I had to realize this may be something I deal with for the rest of my life. I thought it would be good to talk about it a bit and share some things that have helped me along the way.

Find a safe place to talk about what you’re going through. Whether you have a friend or family member to go to or need to reach out to a professional – get out there and find someone to speak to. If you get a therapist, counselor, psychologist or psychiatrist sometimes you may have to go a few sessions to get a feel of it they are a fit. You may be a bit anxious and/or guarded at first but don’t let that stop you – they may be just what you need to let out a sigh of relief.

Don’t feel like you’re a burden. You aren’t. You may feel you are but you aren’t. You may not have found that safe space. Keep looking until you do. Even if it on websites or through social media. I have found many supportive people online that don’t mind listening to what I am going through, lending an ear and giving me advice and words of encouragement. Of course you can keep your guard up and set boundaries in the beginning and not share every single thing with people, but there are people out there that have gone through or are going through the same or similar things that you are going through.

If your mental health professional suggests that you take medication and you are hesitant, ask them more about it and let them know you may want to think about it a bit. There are many different medications that are out there and you have options. If you want to look up the medication(s) that they suggest go ahead and do so. Just be warned that some people do get side effects so keep that in mind. Some are minor and others are major but you should feel comfortable enough to discuss this with your mental health care provider.

Find a happy place or things to do that make you happy. If your mental health issue(s) came on suddenly remember that there were things in the past that you enjoyed. Force yourself to do them! If you love to paint, go and paint. If you love to go to the beach – do it. It may be difficult at first but it is good to do the things you love and that make you happy.

Have a routine. This was tough for me at first because I was all over the place. Now MON – FRI I have work and I come home and do 1 of 3 things during the evening hours. For weekends I try to schedule at least 1-2 things that require me to leave the house. If I stay in all weekend my mind races and I get frustrated and sometimes depressed. If you plan ahead and stick to it I promise you will feel better about it. What also works is scheduling something with a friend or family member so that I know someone else is looking forward to doing something with me as well.

Be your best YOU. There is only one you in the whole entire world and even if you are feeling down and not yourself, do what you can to be the best you that you can be. If that means starting something new – a class, a new hobby, a business – do it. Keep yourself busy at being YOU. Figure out what you are good at, figure out what you are passionate about and go out and do it!

What to Binge Watch on Netflix: Part 2

So you have half a day available to binge watch on Netflix shows? Excellent.

In my original post on What to Binge Watch on Netflix I shared mainly Sci-Fi, Murder Mysteries and Comic Book series so I thought I would share some other genres in case that isn’t your thing.

what to binge watch on netflix

What to Binge Watch on Netflix: Part 2

WARNING: Sharing this list with others is highly recommended so that you can binge watch with them and not feel guilty.

Grace & Frankie: Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are hilarious in this comedy about 2 women who have to put down their differences and attempt to cope together when they discover their husbands are not only partners at work – but life partners as well. I think the ladies chemistry is so great, the humor (mixed in with some sadness due to the unfortunate reason they are forced to bond) is fantastic. Adding Sam Waterston and Martin Sheen to the cast was a genius move.

Black Mirror: For the sci-fi lover.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones: Season 3 is coming so you still have time to catch up.

Blog Life: I think I’m back

It has been awhile since I last posted something. It is not that I haven’t had ideas. My mind is constantly full of ideas for posts. It is not that I haven’t thought about different series to start up here. It is not that I completely forgot that I have a blog (more than one actually).

It is simply because life got in the way.

I have been going through a lot of things personally and I tend to share bits and pieces here. I will expand on this more in another post (got the idea while going through some thangs), however, just know that you can expect more posts from me going forward.

I want to welcome any new readers and send big hugs to returning readers for coming and checking out what this post is all about. Coming back and writing was actually inspired by my therapy session yesterday – I was encouraged to follow my passion(s) and blogging/writing is definitely up there when it comes to things I am passionate about.

This is how passionate about writing this post I was. It is Saturday, I am washing clothes, budgeting and paying bills online, however, I told myself I would open up wordpress and write something… ANYTHING… even if it was a draft. Well my laptop decided it was the perfect time for an update and nearly an hour later (I know it was an hour because my laundry was done around the same time) I FINALLY was able to log in after my laptop restarted twice.

I was at my wits end and frustrated but I reminded myself that I had made a promise to myself last night that I would make sure to write something today. Regardless of how short or long it was – I was going to write something. As I close out this post I feel so inspired to continue writing and blogging. I didn’t go back and proofread because I want to post this NOW. I may come back later to see if there are some things that need changing but I am happy with myself for writing this post in one sitting. Dell just popped up saying I have 5 updates to install so I better post this before things get crazy again. I love you all!

I think I’m back.

Rose Reads: Current Book List

I thought it would be fun to share what I am currently reading and to get recommendations from readers on what to read next. I tend to read a few different books from different genres at the same time (as you can see below). I have always been that way unless I am sitting on a relaxed Sunday simply to devour 1 book.

Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert

I am really enjoying this book. I have had many AHA! moments while reading it and I have been taking it in just a few pages at a time.

The Best Yes by Lysa TerKeurst

This book came at the right time. Not that I was questioning my faith but I needed a little faith and religion to pull me back in. Great read so far, however, the religious tone is a bit much for me at times.

The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz

I am devouring this book chapter by chapter every few days. Tons of highlighting going on – do you highlight your books? So much good information that resonates with me. David talks about thinking big – positive thinking (whispers: the law of attraction) without it being woo woo or awkward. This is a great read for anyone really that wants to change some aspect of their life.

Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis (Audible)

Take Control of Your Life by Mel Robbins (Audible)

I love Mel Robbins! I have been listening to her a lot on youtube and she is such a straight shooter and so inspiring and motivational. She is a that good friend that knows just what to say and isn’t afraid to say it. I prefer listening to her book since it is her reading it. It is like one of her motivational speeches. She starts off by talking about how fear silences us. Whew. This is gonna be GOOD.
